Mrs. Comella

    My name is Mary Beth (Grace) Comella. My husband Tony and I are blessed with two amazing children. Our daughter Elizabeth is 17 and a senior at Bishop LeBlond High School. Our son Michael is in 8th grade at St. Francis. We have been members of Saint Francis Parish for 16 years and have been a school family for 13 years. We enjoy spending time together; playing games, watching movies, or going to Royals games.

   After graduating from Bishop LeBlond, I attended Missouri State and North Central where I earned my CDA certification.  I am a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. I have attended many NAEYC trainings as well as Love and Logic workshops to ensure I am giving all of my students the best learning experiences.

   I became a Catholic school teacher so that I may share the faith freely with our young learners. My mission this year is to build a faith based classroom community where children will love each other as brothers and sisters of Christ.

   The saint who I am most inspired by is Saint Teresa of Avila. She is the founder of the modern Carmelite order and had wonderful insight on prayer. As a young girl I often went with my mother to the Carmelite Monastery, where she would pray.  I found the serenity very appealing and decided that I wanted to become a Carmelite nun.  Although God had a different path for me I still find peace in silent prayer.

Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things
Whoever has God lacks nothing;
God alone suffices.

-- St. Teresa of Avila
