Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! I hope everyone enjoyed their summer and is excited to start this school year, as I believe it will be a great one. I would like to take this time to welcome you and your child into my classroom this year as well as introduce myself. My name is Rachael Williams and I am a life-long native of St. Joseph and a member of St. James Parish. I am the oldest of three children with a younger sister, Anne, who is 24 and a younger brother, Matthew, who is 19. I recently got married to my husband, Spencer, on June 27th, 2014 and we have 2 pets, a Maine coon cat named Mischa and a corgi named Maverick. I love painting, decorating, and spending time with my family and most all I love teaching.
As a child, I attended St. James Catholic School from 1st to 8th grade and then went on to graduate from Benton High School in 2004. In 2011 I graduated from Missouri Western State University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and a minor in history.
This year in kindergarten we will be working on many concepts. Our class will be working on teamwork, building friendships, gaining knowledge in reading, writing, math, science, and religion through various activities. My goal is to make learning enjoyable to every student in the class through the use of various activities as well as to help them grow in their Catholic faith by relating events in their own lives to various saints as well as other Bible characters. I believe every child has the ability to learn and I expect them to always do their best in my classroom.
